[0:09] Welcome to the fifth and final episode in how to achieve the results you want in life.

Today is mastering your mental inputs and fueling your mind for success.

We're exploring the importance of being conscious and intentional about the information and influences that we allow into our mind and how it impacts our journey towards those results that we talked about four or five episodes ago.

See, our minds are like sponges and they absorb everything we expose them to.

The things that we consume, whether it's books, podcasts, music, the news, anything that we consume, even the conversations that we engage in, those all become inputs that shape our thoughts, that shape our beliefs, that shape our actions and ultimately shape our outcomes, They shape our results.

To fuel our minds for success, or for the outcomes that we want, we have to be intentional about the mental inputs that we expose ourselves to.

And that starts with being selective about the information that we allow to enter our brain.

[1:22] I listened to a daily podcast for about almost six years and while it was what I needed at that time, it ceased to be that thing. It was just a fun podcast to listen to. Very informational, very informative. I learned a lot, but I wasn't learning the things that were taking me to where I wanted to go. So I had to, I chose to quit listening to that podcast.

I want you to choose educational, yes, inspirational and motivational content, whether that's podcast books, blogs, whatever that is, that will align your thoughts with your goals and with your values. Feed your mind with the knowledge and the wisdom that empowers you to grow and thrive towards the future, towards the success that you want to see.

You also need to be mindful of the people that you surround yourself with.

If you surround yourself with positive, with encouraging, supportive people, they will have a tremendous impact on your mindset and on your success.

Think about a time when you were around a negative person. They drag you down.

You have to cut those people out or limit their exposure to yourself.

[2:50] If you get around positive people, you will become more like them.

Find mentors, find role models who inspire you and challenge you to reach for new heights, to achieve new things, to achieve things that you long for, to pursue your goals.

You also want to consider the impact that the media you consume has on your mind, has on your mental state.

While we want to stay informed, that's something that we all want to do and B is an informed person.

[3:27] There's so much negativity in the media today, in the news especially, but also the music.

Those things affect your mindset, and we have to be conscious of that.

We need to choose content that upriches and enlifts our thinking, rather than content like the news that breeds negativity and ultimately limits your potential.

[3:53] Reflection is also a key to mastering your mental inputs. When you take the time to examine your thoughts, your beliefs, your self-talk, you can identify the limiting beliefs and the negative patterns and work on reframing those into positive and empowering thought patterns. And if you are finding yourself in a negative pattern, it starts with the inputs.

[4:22] Think about the media that you're allowing into your brain. Those affirmations and visualizations that we talked about in the last episode, those can help to strengthen your mindset and ultimately enhance your mental inputs. Remember though that mastering your mental inputs is an ongoing process.

It takes consistency and discipline, and neither one of those those are very fun. Evaluate constantly the information that you expose yourself to and make those adjustments as you find necessary. When you surround yourself with positivity, with knowledge and inspiration, you fuel your mind for success. So to recap, mastering your mental inputs is key to fueling your mind for achieving the results you want. Because the things you allow into your mind shape your thoughts, that shapes your self-talk, that shapes your actions, and that ultimately shapes your results.

[5:30] Do good work.
